Parking and Transportation
Parking on campus is often very limited, so it is important to plan ahead for your event parking and shuttle needs. Stanford Transportation will be your main contact for event parking and transportation needs.
Organize event parking
There are several options for guest parking for your event. For larger events, you can reserve the Galvez Lot. For smaller events or to keep costs down, Special Event and Visitor parking permits are available for a few limited lots. Share the campus parking map with your guests to highlight the nearest parking to your event venue.
Placards and services for disabled guests should also be arranged. If you plan to rent golf carts to transport guests, you need to obtain a temporary permit for the carts.
Shuttles and alternative transportation
There are many great alternative transportation options to consider for your events. Shuttles or charter shuttles can be arranged to transport attendees. Review the Tour Bus Protocol if using a shuttle bus for your event.
Traffic Control
You will also need to work with the Department of Public Safety to manage traffic control around your event parking and venue if necessary. For traffic control needs including personnel, barricades and traffic cone requests, complete the Security Services Request Form no later than ten (10) days prior to the event.
When reserving large, unpaved overflow lots, it is advisable to hire a vendor to provide parking services management.
Construction Info
It is also helpful to check the listing of current construction projects around campus as this may impact access to your event venue.
